Is it free to use?

Yes — Halal Maps is free to use.

Is Halal Maps available outside of London or in other countries?

We currently have only launched the London map, with plans to expand across the UK and internationally in future updates.

Is there an Android version of Halal Maps?

An Android version is in development — stay tuned!

Can I add my own eatery to Halal Maps if I serve Halal food?

Yes – you can submit your eatery to Halal Maps directly through the app yourself. Just create an account, complete the 1 week grace period, and then you can submit your eatery, as long as it fulfils all the criteria for submission i.e. it serves some Halal meat and it is an eatery (not a grocery store).

Can I partner with Halal Maps as a business owner?

Yes – you can register your business interest here.

How are restaurants verified?

Some restaurants are verified by direct contact with Halal Maps other are solely community-submitted information.

The app relies on community feedback to help monitor and update listings. That is why getting you involved is so important!

Although we try our best to keep information updated and correct, some information is likely to be wrong. We always encourage users to check with the restaurant directly to confirm Halal status.

What privacy data do you collect?

We never sell personal data or email addresses to third parties. Some data is collected to help improve the app and newsletter experience. View our privacy policy here.

How often is the data updated?

Halal Maps regularly updates restaurant business information and integrates community contribution into the app.

Can I suggest adding a restaurant?

Yes — you can suggest new restaurants from within the app.

How can I help improve Halal Maps?

You can help by sharing the app with others, submitting new listings, and reporting outdated information — all of which can be done within the app.

Does Halal Maps include prayer space info?

Not yet — but this is a feature we are actively exploring for future updates.

Date of Birth (optional) – to personalise recommendations and improve user experience.

Firebase (Google LLC) – for authentication, database, and analytics.
Google Analytics – to collect anonymous usage statistics.
Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) – to send optional communication emails and manage contact lists.
These providers may store and process data outside the UK. We only work with partners that meet UK GDPR adequacy standards or appropriate safeguards.4. Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).5. Cookies and Tracking
Halal Maps itself does not use cookies, but third-party tools like Google Analytics may use identifiers to analyse app usage. You can control or opt out of analytics tracking through your device settings.6. Children’s Privacy
While there is no formal age restriction, Halal Maps is not designed for children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.7. Your Rights (UK & GDPR)

Last updated: 15th October 2025These Terms of Use (“Terms”) set out the rules for using the Halal Maps mobile application and website (together, the “App”), operated by Halal Mapper Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales.
By downloading, accessing, or using Halal Maps, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the App.1. About Halal Maps
Halal Maps helps users discover and share information about halal-friendly restaurants and related venues.
Information in the App may come from public sources, restaurant owners, or user submissions.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
You may use the App in guest mode, but certain features (e.g., submitting restaurant information) may require a free account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for any activity under your account.
3. User Submissions
Users may submit new restaurant details, corrections, photos, or comments (“User Content”).
You confirm that your User Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not infringe anyone’s rights.
By submitting, you grant Halal Mapper Ltd a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the App.
We may edit or remove User Content at our discretion.4. Accuracy of Information
We aim to keep restaurant information accurate and current, but halal status and other details can change without notice.
Halal Mapper Ltd does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of listings.
Users should make their own checks before visiting a venue.5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
misuse or interfere with the App’s normal operation;
attempt to extract, scrape, download, or reproduce any part of the App’s database or content;
use automated scripts, crawlers, or bots to collect data from the App;
use the App’s data to create or promote another restaurant directory, map, or competing service;
use the App for unlawful, misleading, or offensive purposes; or
upload malicious code or harmful content.
We may suspend or terminate access to anyone who violates these rules.6. Data and Intellectual Property
All data, listings, coordinates, metadata, and other information displayed within the Halal Maps app and website (collectively the “Database”) are compiled, organised, and maintained by Halal Mapper Ltd.
While individual restaurant details may be publicly available elsewhere, the Database as a whole — including how information is collected, verified, and presented — is protected by copyright and database rights.
Users may access the Database only for personal, non-commercial use within the App.
You must not:
copy, download, or scrape substantial parts of the Database;
use automated tools to extract data from the App;
reproduce or republish the Database (in whole or part) to build a competing service or directory; or
use any data obtained from the App in a way that breaches these Terms.
Halal Mapper Ltd reserves all rights in the Database and may take action against unauthorised extraction or reuse.7. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our [Privacy Policy], which explains how we handle personal data.8. Future Advertising or Paid Features
Halal Maps is currently free and ad-free.
We may introduce advertising or premium features in the future, but any material change will be communicated and, where required, subject to updated Terms.9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Halal Mapper Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage arising from:
reliance on information within the App,
technical issues or interruptions, or
actions of third-party venues or services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.10. Termination
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the App.
